Bishop, Texas, USA

The BASF facilities on the Bishop site were built in 1991. There are two manufacturing units that use advanced technology to produce the key products Ibuprofen and 4-Hydroxyacetophenone.

Both products are manufactured in dedicated assets controlled by highly automated process control systems. The Bishop site is part of the OSHA VPP safety program and is recognized with the “VPP Star site” status. The environmental superiority of the Ibuprofen technology has been recognized with a Kirkpatrick and a Presidential Green Chemistry award. On-site BASF operates the world’s largest Ibuprofen plant.
