Kollicoat® SR 30 D is a polyvinyl acetate dispersion with 27% polyvinyl acetate as a filmformer and with 2.7% povidone and 0.3% sodium Iauryl sulfate as stabilizers. The total solid content is 30%. It is used in coated sustained-release formulations or matrix tablets with pH-independent release characteristics.
Methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) in the form of a 30% aqueous dispersion for enteric coating of crystals, pellets, tablets and capsules.
Redispersible methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) in powder form for enteric coating of crystals, pellets, tablets and capsules.
Kollidon® SR is a blend of 80% polyvinyl acetate and 20% povidone in powder form. This excipient is used in sustained-release matrix tablets that are manufactured by direct compression and have pH-independent release characteristics.
Developing modified coatings that produce a reliable and stable release is still a challenge. Only a few polymers - polyvinylacetate, ethylcellulose and methacrylates - are suitable for this purpose and have very different characteristics.
