Find your right color match
Just choose one colored tablet. Place this tablet in the ColorEye’s® custom-made tablet sample holder (step 2). Using the portable, easy-to use ColorEye® XTH, determine the color of your tablets within a few minutes (step 3).
In steps 3-5, insert the color determined by ColorEye® XTH (i.e. as L*a*b*-values) intoPrismaPro® Pharma software (co-developed by BASF and Fast&Fluid) and you will be given the Kollicoat® IR Coating Systems recipe matching the originator color by clicking the mouse (step 6). Using this recipe, a film can then be cast as an optional step 7 to obtain a rough impression of how the tablet coating would look in its final form. Or you can just coat your tablet right away in a final step!

Step 1
Choose a color-coated tablet you would like to color-match.
Step 2
Fix the colored tablet in the ColorEye’s® sample holder.
Step 3
Use the portable ColorEye® XTH to determine the color of your tablet.
Step 4
Determine the color (L*a*b*-values) of your tablet.
Step 5
Insert the L*a*b*-values in PrismaPro® Pharma software.
Step 6
PrismaPro® Pharma software produces a Kollicoat® IR Coating Systems recipe for matching the color of the original tablet from step 1.
Step 7 - optional
Prepare a suspension of the recipe proposed by Kollicoat® IR Coating Systems and cast a film to get a rough impression of how the film coating would look like. For a film casting knife, please contact your BASF sales representative.
Step 8
Color-coat the tablets in your coating equipment.
