Ludiflash® as Excipient in pediatric use

Ideal for many manufacturing processes.

Ludiflash® is suitable for direct compression and roller compaction. It can also be used in wet-granulation processes, where required by the active ingredient, or for other reasons. The blends can be processed on tableting machines, or used in the form of granulate or powder. Ludiflash offers good flowability, minimal water absorption, exceptionally high cohesion, and no segregation of the active ingredients. As a result, it can be easily processed.  

Thanks to its unique composition, Ludiflash produces tablets with: 

• An excellent compression/hardness curvebility  
• Very high content uniformly

The formulations with Ludiflash can be improved further by adding 5 to 10wt.% of Kollidon® CL-SF as an extra-granular disintegrant. BASF’s super-disintegrant Kollidon® CL-SF already is included in Ludiflash as intra-granular disintegrant.

Thanks to its very fine particles Kollidon® CL-SF does not compromise the smooth mouth-feel of ODT-formulations, yet its exceptional swelling properties assure a very rapid disintegration of the tablets.

Ludiflash® tablets can be packed in push-through blisters, polyethylene containers, sachets and more – using standard equipment. To ensure excellent long-term stability across all humidity ranges, BASF recommends the use of suitable push-through blisters.
